About Us

The Golden Light Wellness Center in Oxford was founded 17 years ago in 1999 by sisters, Debra George and Carol Yurick. Together they strive to introduce a variety of complementary techniques to the community and emphasize the mind, body, spirit connection.

Debra George is a Registered Occupational Therapist, licensed in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In her O.T. practice, she has gained much experience in the field of pediatrics and treats children with a Holistic approach. She is an experienced school based Occupational Therapist of over 30 years and specializes in Children’s Handwriting concerns and Assistive Technology. At the Wellness Center, Debbie is the founder of Write-Well Handwriting Clinics (print, cursive and keyboarding) and teaches handwriting to adults and children who are having difficulty with handwriting legibility and works as a consultant to parents of children for assistive technology needs or who may have difficulty with visual perceptual skills when reading (color over lays). A holistic approach to treating the child is used at the Golden Light Wellness Center and during Handwriting Clinics where meditation, aromatherapy, massage therapy and other holistic modalities may be used. In addition she has a second Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation.

Debbie graduated from Health Alliance School for massage in 1998 and has been a Certified through the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and Licensed in PA as a Massage Therapist for the past 15+ years . To add to the massage, Debbie has completed Master level Usui Reiki and Master level Mah’heo’o Reiki. She uses the Reiki energy to which she has been attuned during the massages that she gives. She is also a Certified Infant Massage Instructor II, teaching parents how to massage their babies, birth to pre-crawling. Debbie has extended training in Raindrop Therapy Technique through the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education, Seated Massage, Ear Candling, and Cranial Sacral Therapy through Upledger.  She has completed the Intermediate Level of the Integrated Energy Therapy.

Most recently in July, 2015, Debbie has graduated with a Certification of Master Hypnotist, 5-PATH® Hypnotherapist and 7th Path Self-Hypnosis® Teacher  from the Banyan Hypnosis Center.  She is also a member of the National Guild of Hypnosists, Inc.

Debbie provides massage and holistic services for children of all ages to help with stress relief at the Wellness Center.


Carol Yurick Reiki Master/Teacher

Carol Yurick Reiki Master/Teacher

Carol Yurick is a Certified Reiki Master/Teacher of Usui Reiki and a Master of Mah’Heo’O Reiki. Carol treats clients with Reiki in sessions, on an individual basis at the Wellness Center. She enjoys teaching and giving Reiki Attunements in all levels of Reiki (Level I, Level II, Master Level and Teaching level) to adults, health care professionals, parents of special needs children and children since the center opened in 1999.

Carol began her study of spirituality, life after death and grief after the death of her 22-year-old daughter, Kelley in 1995. With certification in grief counseling from Jeannes Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, training with Hospice, and Metaphysical degree studies, Carol is able to use all her knowledge and life experience to help others who are led to the center and are grieving the loss of a child or loved one.

Carol is a volunteer coordinator of “The Afterlife Conference” and serves on the advisory board. This conference is held in different cities each year throughout the country with a mission to gather the greatest minds in afterlife research, spiritual exploration, consciousness studies and death-awareness for a life-altering, heart-opening, mind-expanding weekend each year. Conference workshops are presented in three tracks that cover everything from scientific research on near-death experience and instruction in after-death communication techniques to mystical and psychological practices for assisting the dying in their journeys.

Most recently, Carol has received a Master of Metaphysical Science from the University of Metaphysics and has received a certificate in Grief Counseling from American Institute of Health Care Professionals in March of 2016.
